MadCap Flare Single Source Project

For my Digital Literacies course, I collaborated with my team on a single source project in MadCap Flare for the fictional Zen4 Server. We designed a solution that enables users to update content across multiple platforms, optimize search engine performance, and provide tailored print outputs. Using conditional displays, we created distinct PDF options for software and hardware documentation. To maintain consistency, we applied a CSS stylesheet for visual continuity and rewrote content using DITA to align with industry standards. This project showcased how single sourcing can streamline workflows and deliver a seamless user experience.

Camtasia Screencasting Project

In my Digital Literacies course, I created a quick-start guide on how to create a new project in REDCap. For this project, I adhered to the principles of minimalism to design a clear and concise video solution. The guide uses screencasting to demonstrate procedural steps, allowing users to follow along with realistic tasks immediately. Visual markers highlight critical actions to ensure clarity, while audio narration provides additional guidance to minimize passive learning. I focused on reducing text-heavy content and making the video interactive and engaging, helping novice users recover from potential errors easily and productively. This approach ensures the guide is both practical and user-friendly, reflecting best practices in instructional design.

Content Strategy Analysis Report

In my Digital Content Strategies course, I was a member of a small team tasked to audit several manuals for a real automobile company. The goal was to review the manuals against the company’s style guide, visual presentation guide, and consistency guide and then provide feedback to assist the company on improving their documentation in advance of their transition to digital delivery. Due to confidentiality requirements, I redacted names and images where applicable.

Content Strategy Roadmap

In my Digital Content Strategies course, I was a member of a small team tasked to audit several manuals for a real automobile company. After reviewing the manuals, we developed a content strategy roadmap that included a SWOT analysis and two strategic directions that could enhance their content. Due to confidentiality requirements, I redacted names and images where applicable.

Design Portfolio

This is a portfolio of the work I performed in my Designing Technical Documents course. In this document, I made good use of color, information architecture, typeface selection, and a grid layout.
